Eimmart, Homann, Nuremberg ca. 1710Overview & Area: Attractive copper-engraved map showing the allegorical norhtern and southern sky constellations. Further small spheres indicate night/day rotations, monthly orbit circle with the moon, yearly orbit circle around the sun, illumination of the moon, models after Tycho Brahe, Copernicus and Ptolemy. Very decorative: With an engraved heaven and a decorative title banner.Rarer Variant with the title "coeleste" rather than the later "caeleste"!This map is an original copper engraving, printed and published in Nuremberg around 1710 (maybe as early as 1705?)! This important map by Eimmert, set the standard for decades to come and was later used by many cartographers like Lotter, Seutter, etc. => One of the best and most important 18th century celestial maps!
